DELHI:EROS TIMES: The cabinet approved the Directorate of Education proposal for manifold increase in the cash incentive for the outstanding sports persons of Delhi for their achievements in Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games including Para Games.
The revised amount of cash incentive in all the categories will be applicable from the beginning of the current financial year i.e the tournaments held after 1st April 2018.
During the last three- four years, sportspersons of Delhi have excelled in many games. They have shown extraordinary performance in recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2018 and different international and national tournaments.
The eligibility conditions are:-
A player should be bonafide resident of Delhi for the last three years.
A player will be provided the incentive only once for his/her achievements, i.e. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in a year.

The cabinet approved the Directorate of Technical Education proposal for construction of Stage-I of Phase-II, Delhi Technological University, Bawana Road, at an estimated cost of Rs 291.88 crore.
Presently, the University is being run with insufficient infrastructure facilities which were created to cater to the needs of 3,000 students, However, currently the University has over 9000 students and more than 500 teachers and support staff. The proposal is, therefore, for construction of Stage-I of Phase-II which shall provide infrastructure for additional 3800 students in two academic blocks and provide residential accommodation to additional 990 students in three hostel blocks.
The cabinet accorded its approval and expenditure sanction for the construction of building and related infrastructure facilities as above for Stage I of Delhi Technological University Phase II, Bawana Road, Delhi at an estimated cost of Rs. 291.88 crores as already approved by Expenditure Finance Committee in meeting held on 06.07.18.
Approval to constitute a Project Monitoring Committee as per composition mentioned in proposal placed before EFC with addition of Department of Training & Technical Education nominee as member. This Project Monitoring committee will consists of Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Chief Project Officer/Executive Engineer, DTU, a nominee of Department of Training & Technical Education, Chief Project Manager (Housing), PWD, concerned Executive Engineer (PWD) and Third Party Quality Assurance.
Approval for Department of Training & Technical Education to authorize PWD to incur expenditure from the existing budget provision i.e. under “Major Head 4202-Infrastructure Projects of Autonomous Bodies Institutions/Universities” up to the limit prescribed by Department of Training & Technical Education after obtaining necessary financial sanction of competent authority.
The cabinet approved the Department of Technical Education proposal for the construction of additional areas under Phase-II of the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology-Delhi (IIIT-D) campus at Okhla
The cabinet granted its approval for the sanction of additional funds of Rs 70 crore to be given to IIIT-D as interest free loan due to increase in cost of construction of Phase –II of the Campus of IIIT-D, over and above the already sanctioned loan amount of Rs 250 crore under the Capital Head, as per the Cabinet Decision No. 2087 dated 01.10.2013 to cover increase in cost of construction of Phase – II of IIIT-D Campus due to additional area of construction, escalation and variation and also due to change in taxes, giving due consideration to its financial condition and other submissions made by IIIT-Delhi.
The repayment of loan shall start after 15 years from the date of loan completely drawn.
The repayment of loan shall be in the shape of annual installment with due date specifically prescribed by the Department of Training & Technical Education in consultation with Finance Department.
Submission of undertaking by Director, IIIT-D as per GFR that the fixed assets of IIIT-D shall not be hypothecated or disposed without prior approval of the Government.
IIIT-D will submit utilization certificate, reports, statements, etc. in terms of Rule-256 of GFR, 2017 to Department of Training and Technical Education.
The project shall be completed as per approved scope of work within scheduled period at the sanctioned cost. No escalation will be considered in future.
