New Delhi:EROS TIMES: December To protest against the collusion between the BJP Government at the Centre and the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi to scuttle the regularization of unauthorized colonies in Delhi, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma addressed a big public meeting at Vikas Nagar in West Delhi.
The meeting also unanimously passed a resolution, condemning the BJP and AAP move to prevent the regularization of unauthorized colonies.
It may be recalled that under the leadership of DPCC president Subhash Chopra, Delhi Congress has been holding Halla Bol rallies across the Capital to protest against the BJP and AAP attempts to stall the regularization of unauthorized colonies. With the tacit support of the Kejriwal Government, the Modi Government at the Centre has included Clause 7A in the Gazette Notification to deny ownership to a large number of unauthorized colonies in Delhi.
A very big meeting was held today at Vikas Nagar in West Delhi in which thousands of people from unauthorized colonies participated, and people in South Delhi held a well-attended demonstration against the DDA.
Addressing the meeting at Vikas Nagar, senior leader Mukesh Sharma said that the BJP and AAP Governments were conspiring to demolish unauthorized colonies in Delhi and in the name of giving ownership rights, a big window for corruption has also been opened.
He said that people in unauthorized colonies were already fed up with the MCD, Delhi Police and the Revenue Department of the Delhi Government, and the involvement of DDA in giving ownership right was another conspiracy to mount tremendous pressure on people living in these colonies.
Mukesh Sharma, criticizing the portal opened by the Union Urban Development Ministry, said that it was for the first time that the Ministry has called for tenders from four companies for the right to collect ownership right fees from people in the unauthorized colonies.
He asked Union Minister Hardeep Puri whether the residents of unauthorized colonies would have to pay bribes to these companies along with the DDA for getting ownership rights.
Mukesh Sharma slammed the Kejriwal Government for quietly giving its support for the inclusion of Clause 7A in the Gazette Notification for the recognition of unauthorized colonies which will keep out nearly 700 such colonies from the ambit of regularization.
He asserted that he was in possession of proof of Delhi Government’s written consent in this matter. He said that the Congress party will not accept any plan to uproot people of unauthorized colonies. He said that the Congress will approve only the policy applied by the Indira Gandhi Government in the Seventies, for the regularization of 1731 unauthorized colonies now.
