Delhi:EROS TIMES: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, visited Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya Khajuri Khas in North East Delhi today also to meet with students and parents of violence affected areas.
With the purpose to re instill confidence and faith in students and to encourage them to start attending their schools again, the Directorate of Education, Govt. of Delhi organised Parent Teacher Meeting at schools affected by violence in North East Delhi on 4th and 5th March, 2020.
Today was the second day of Special PTM which was for Second shift schools. Yesterday, it was for General/Morning shift schools.
“The reason that we are conducting Parent Teacher Meetings is so that both parents and their children regain confidence.
For days in a row, people were not stepping out of their homes due to the fear of these riots.
Right now, as the students have resumed attending schools, they have started becoming more confident about the atmosphere. They have understood that the situation is in control and that they don’t need to worry about anything,” said Dy CM Manish Sisodia.
“Today, teachers and parents have interacted and discussed the importance of education.
It was important to stress the need for educated young individuals in our country, who will not only carve a bright future for themselves, but for the nation on the whole.
The people involved in the riots cannot shape the future of our country, three or four people roaming around on the streets may spread hatred and spite but can never add to the bright future of our nation.
It is only the younger generations coming out of thousands of families who can shape the future of India and help us progress further, if they study hard and get educated,” added Manish Sisodia.
The Education minister of Delhi said that kids would only be able to focus on their studies if they start attending their classes again. He also expressed happiness in seeing the huge turnout of parents and guardians at the PTM.
On asked about the relief measures being carried out by the Delhi govt, in terms of installing relief camps Hon’ble Dy CM replied, “Relief camps are make-shift arrangements for the violence affected families, we at the Delhi Govt. are trying to provide monetary compensation to the riot-affected persons as soon as possible.
We also have issued immediate cash relief to the grieving families. We are also ensuring smooth functioning of our relief camps, but our aim is to provide full compensation to every individual affected by the riot so that they can get their disrupted, charred homes restored soon.
Only then will their confidence get a good boost.”
In his interaction with parents of GBSS No.2 Tukmirpur, Manish Sisodia said, “ We are taking all the steps to erase every fear from the minds of our students, but it is also important for you as parents to not discuss such issues which can adversely impact your children.
So please ensure that there is no fearful atmosphere at homes.” The kids also replied that they felt confident after practicing meditation in the happiness class. Their fears were put at rest and they were gearing up for their next examination.
While asked about the preventive measures taken on by Delhi govt schools to combat Corona virus, Manish Sisodia said, “We are issuing an advisory in all our schools with regard to Corona virus and how to take preventive steps. We have also decided to keep all primary classes (upto class 5) in all schools of Delhi closed from tomorrow till 31st March.
This includes all Delhi schools, including those run by Local bodies, government and private schools.”
