NEW DELHI:EROS TIMES: April 28, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president and Congress candidate for the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency Sheila Dikshit intensified her election campaign as she had an hectic schedule today, making a whistle-stop tour of the Mustafabad Assembly constituency.
Sheila Dikshit visited Mustafabad’s Harijan Basti, East Karawal Nagar and Sadatpur and appealed to the people to cast their votes for the Congress as only the Congress party can solve the problems of the poor and the common people, and ensure the all-round development of the area.
She was accompanied by ex-MLA Hassan Ahmed and thousands of Congress workers. Local residents, particularly women standing on roadsides and terraces of their houses, extended a warm welcome to Sheila Dikshit. The local residents assured Sheila Dikshit that this time, they will only vote for the Congress to ensure her victory with a thumping majority.
Sheila Dikshit also visited the house of a prominent Congress worker of the area, and the houses local residents and met thousands of local people to seek their votes and support.
Sheila Dikshit said that this Lok Sabha election would be a historic one as it would signal the end of communal and casteist forces who were trying to divide the people on communal lines. She said that the country was passing through a difficult phase as the Modi rule in the last five years has driven the country to ruin.
She said that demonetization and GST, coupled with the sealing and demolition drive, have ruined businesses and rendered lakhs of people unemployed.
Sheila Dikshit said that the people of Delhi are fed with the misrule of the AAP Government in Delhi as no useful work is being done and the AAP leaders only make hollow promises without fulfilling them. She said that Congress is a democratic party, and under the dynamic leadership of Congress president Shri Rahul Gandhi, Congress will form a Government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha elections. She said that her top most priority would be to ensure a peaceful life for the people and restart the stalled development works in Delhi. She said that she was fighting the Lok Sabha election only to save Delhi from ruin and the misrule of the AAP and BJP.
