New Delhi:EROS TIMES: December 4—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Subhash Chopra alleged here today that due to the misrule and corruption of the Arvind Kejriwal Government in Delhi, there was not only a big slump in the revenue collection, but there was a reduction of Rs 2900 crore in VAT and GST collection alone.
Chopra said that the Kejriwal Government was trying to not only mislead the Delhi Assembly, but also the people of Delhi, by claiming that there has been 23 per cent rise in the revenue collection.
Chopra demanded that Kejriwal apologize to the people of Delhi for mouthing lies to them.
Subhash Chopra and chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, in its report, has made a detailed disclosure about it.
They said that the CAG report has pointed out that till the end of 2018, various Government departments have shown loss in revenue collection on account of the corrupt policies of the Kejriwal Government. Chopra and Sharma said that the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) alone suffered a loss of Rs 3400 crore. Making a direct attack on Kejriwal, both Chopra and Sharma said that the Kejriwal Government has betrayed the tax payers and the people of Delhi.
Chopra and Sharma alleged that there have been serious corruption in the matter of VAT and GST collection related to over 300 VIP cases, and as a result, the Government has suffered a loss of over Rs 1700 crore. They demanded that on the basis of the CAG report, a CBI probe should be ordered in the entire scam.
Subhash Chopra and Mukesh Sharma expressed surprise that despite the budget of the Delhi Government doubling, the AAP Government has not constructed any new fly-over, hospital, new roads in the unauthorized colonies or strengthened the public transport system. They said that the Ministers of the Delhi Government were directly involved in the scam involving revenue collection, which should also be thoroughly probed. They said that Kejriwal was only making announcements, and those announcements have nothing to do with the development of Delhi.
